Rides

Lots of regular group rides are held in Enfield for a range of interests and abilities:

Easy Riders

Are you a bit new to cycling, coming back to it after a long time, or want to ride with your kids? Then these rides are for you! Run by experienced volunteers at Enfield Cycling Campaign, they are led, marshalled rides at a gentle pace using the new cycle infrastructure, green spaces and quiet roads, with a  decent café stop halfway through. The dates are below – email us at info@enfieldcc.co.uk for more details:

Saturday 26 May 2018

Time: 2-4pm

Start and end point: Broomfield Park, Aldermans Hill N13 (the entrance on Aldermans Hill at the corner of the park, near Broomfield Avenue).

Route: This will be a quiet route through green spaces to Oak Hill Park and back to Broomfield.

Saturday 30 June 2018

Time: 2-4pm

Start and end point: Edmonton Green train station

Route: Ride to some green spaces in the Lee Valley.

Saturday 28 July 2018

No Easy Riders on this date – but join London FreeCycle instead! Central London closes its roads to traffic on Saturday 28 July to let people of all ages and abilities take to bikes in their thousands. You can either catch the train into town with your bike, or join one of our safe, led rides and cycle the whole way. We lead two feeder rides from Enfield: one from Edmonton Green and one from Palmers Green.

Please register if you plan to join a led ride: https://www.prudentialridelondon.co.uk/events/freecycle/

Edmonton Green: Meet at Edmonton Leisure Centre, opposite Edmonton Green station, at 9am. Expect to ride for about an hour. Suitable for families who are used to cycling moderate distances and saw a number of children take part last year.

Palmers Green: Meet at the Triangle (Green Lanes/Aldermans Hill junction) at 9am. The group will ride to Ducketts Common in Haringey to meet the Haringey Cyclists led ride into town. About an hour’s ride at a gentle pace. Also suitable for families who are used to cycling moderate distances.

Don’t forget – if you run out of energy you can always sling your bike on a train to get home, e.g. Liverpool Street to Enfield Town.

Saturday 25 August 2018

Time: c. 12:45 to 4:30pm depending where you join

Start and end point: Choose between starting at Palmers Green Triangle at 12.45pm, Ridge Ave library at 1:15pm, Enfield Chase station 2pm or Gordon Hill station 2:30pm

Route: Quiet roads to Hilly Fields Park, then off-road along the Turkey Brook to Forty Hall, returning the same way

Saturday 29 September

Time: 1-5pm depending on where you join

Start and end point: Choose between starting at Sainsbury’s on Green Lanes at 1:00pm or at Oakwood Tube Station (under the giant Tube sign) at 2pm
